A prankster in Hollywood must be pretty excited about the state's legalization of marijuana, as they altered the world-famous Hollywood sign to read "Hollyweed."

Sgt. Juneau of the Los Angeles Police Department's Security Services Division told NBC Los Angeles that the vandal, a lone man, was able to alter the two "Os" in the sign using tarps. A closeup photo of the sign showed the tarps used by the DIY vandal.

Security footage captured the prankster and is currently being reviewed to see if he can be identified.

The change caused such a stir that CBS Los Angeles even started a Facebook Live video of the sign, because why not?
And perhaps one of the most famous stoners took notice, too.

By early afternoon, the sign had returned to normal as the tarps, one of which featured a peace sign, were taken down.
The reign of "Hollyweed" was fun while it lasted.
