An illegal marijuana grow located on the second floor of a house in Walworth, New York, caught fire on Tuesday. Fittingly, the home was located on High Street.
The Associated Pressreports that firefighters were called to the scene a little after 5 a.m. on Tuesday. There they found flames coming through the roof and a locked office door with smoke coming out of it.
Once the flames were extinguished, firefighters discovered between 40 and 50 pot plants in the room, which were situated under grow lights. The Wayne County Sheriff’s office believes that the fire was started due to an electrical malfunction.
Thankfully, the fire did not spread to the rest of the home and all four occupants were unharmed.
One of the residents was charged with a misdemeanor unlawful growing of marijuana. He was given a date to appear in court, and was not at the home when the room caught fire.
Unfortunately, for this guy, his secret is now out. But just imagine how giggly he must have been as the owner of a marijuana grow on High Street.
